We love mermaids at our house, but I have trouble finding some that are exactly what I am looking for. I took several pictures and combined them to make a new mermaid. I have paintined her on a trash can, some lap trays, and the tote that I have shown here. The totes are $6 and listed in my etsy store; hope you will check it out.

Beach Pictures
Shanna is considering beach pictures. She will be there mid-July; I think around July 8-July 15. If you are interested, give me a call, and I will let you know the details. I have my pictures all planned out; now, I just need more people to go.
Mermaids have taken over. I have painted mermaids on trashcans, lap trays, totes, beach buckets, . . . . I will post some pictures tomorrow; she is brand new--one I designed myself. She is a lot like the ballerina I did for the backstage dance bags. Thank you to my favorite counselor for placing the first order from my blog. I bet you get a discount for being first!!

Cookies for Santa Plate and Mug
I painted this rocking chair for the baby's first birthday. A friend that sews made the cushion for me. We centered it with a covered button made to match. I love the way it turned out, and she enjoys sitting in her chair "reading" and "talking on the phone." I have had the bright idea to paint some children's desks like this, but I can't seem to find the desks. Please let me know if you know where to find some old children's desk. I am looking for the kind I sat in when I was little--all one piece, wooden top, metal frame, with a little cubby in the bottom for books.
I ran by the Pea Patch today to check the sign up sheet. There are a few slots left for Tuesday's class. We will glaze a plate and mug for "Cookies for Santa." The class is $25; registration includes all supplies and snacks. Call the Pea Patch at 628-3560 to sign up.

Vacation Cases
I am still painting away, getting ready for the Peach Festival. I have been working on these cases that are a great way to keep up with art supplies. The case monogrammed with the letter K is a large case that will hold a regular sized color book. The turtle case is smaller, but it still holds smaller coloring books and pads of paper. The larger cases are $13, and the smaller cases are $10. These cases are perfect to take on vacation. The kids can pack up everything they will need to stay entertained on the car ride.
I am a little stuck on the zebra monogram. I saw the design on the Internet and fell in love. I have done beach buckets, trash cans, and briefcases in this same design. I know it is time to move on to a new design. I am working on some mermaids that I hope to get posted tomorrow. I want to thank everyone that is following and reading my blog. I love the phone calls, and I really appreciate that I got my first plate order from the blog today. I have such wonderful friends and family!!

Beach Buckets
I am painting away, getting ready for the Peach Festival at the end of June. Right now, I am working on beach pails. They are pretty big and have rope handles. I have some excellent and loyal customers in Jonesboro who have bought most of the buckets I had on hand, but more are on the way. I even ordered some "luster;" I hope it is as pretty as it sounds. I will be putting the painted buckets at the Pea Patch in Winnfield and CB Antiques in Jonesboro. They are going to be $10 and can be personalized.
Blog Special
All buckets ordered
through the blog are $7.

Painting, Painting, Painting
The kitchen is not clean, and the clothes are definitely not folded. However, I have gotten a lot of painting done today--earning my princess status. Last summer with the help of some great friends, I traveled to New Iberia and purchased a used kiln. I have not had a whole lot of time to devote to working with ceramics. I recently spent several days painting plates. I have included a couple that I did of my girls' feet. Their new bathroom is a mermaid/sea theme, so these plates are the perfect addition. I have been doing the plates on the side for friends. If you are interested in having a plate done of your child, just give me a call. If you want to get five friends together for a plate each, we can call it a party, and your plate will be free. I have other things that also make great grandparent gifts--vases, mugs, ornaments, platters, . . . Don't forget the first class at the Pea Patch is a paint your ceramic class.
I want to thank my wonderful college roomate for being my first follower!!

Tuck
I was busy painting today. I finished up my last dance recital backstage back and a beach bucket. Sorry, there was no time for pictures, because they were delivered before the paint dried! Since there were no painting pictures to post, I thought I would put one up of our newest outdoor pet, Tuck, the miniature horse. I say outdoor, because we also have two baby ducks living indoors!

Here We Go!!
I have been waiting for summer to jump off with both feet. I am starting a blog and opening an Etsy store. I will try to keep the blog filled with what new projects I am working on and what I have coming up.
Pictured is a kid's lap tray painted with a friendly tiger. These trays always seem to be a hit at parties. They are $15; names can be added free of charge.
